About the library
The Pierce County Library Service (PCLS) is the administrative headquarters for the Books-By-Mail (BBM) program. BBM provides home delivery service of audio's and books to rural residents, nursing homes, home bound individuals, children and residents in our county that do not have direct access to a public library.
The PCLS also provides administrative services to the public libraries in Pierce County. Some of these services are: adult best selling books, pre-school story hours, summer library programs for all ages, a rotating collection of videos, audio's and children’s books.
By cooperating with our public libraries, we have been able to vastly improve library service. A resident of Pierce County may use the services of any of our six member libraries in:
ELLSWORTH, ELMWOOD, PLUM CITY, PRESCOTT, RIVER FALLS, SPRING VALLEY
We are part of what makes life in Pierce County great!

Ordering items through the B.B.M for home delivery
Library B.B.M is a collection of popular paperback books and audios loaned, free of charge, by mail.
This special service is available to all residents of Pierce County who find it difficult to get
to a public library.
Twice a year, catalogs are mailed to rural box holders. Each catalog lists 500 new books available for loan, while an audio list is available upon request. Once you choose the items you want to borrow, please fill out the pre-paid postal order card and drop it in the mail. We try to send at least one of the items ordered. Sometimes we need to substitute titles until we can send your original choice. If we don't have what you want, we'll refer you to the public library nearest you. They will get it from their shelf or from another library using the interlibrary loan service.
Placing a reserve
If you do not receive the book you ordered it may be checked out. That's where reserves come in. We will automatically place a reserve for you. When it's your turn, you get the next copy that becomes available.
Renewing library materials
Most items may be renewed for one additional loan period. Items with reserves may not be renewed. Call the library at 715- 639-5955 to renew items over the phone.
